Green Day is now streaming its new album Uno! in its entirety here. Fans can go there and click on the "Hear Uno! Now" tab to listen to the disc, which arrives in stores next Tuesday (September 25th). Uno! is the first of three new albums from the punk trio, with Dos! scheduled to arrive in November and Tre!hitting the streets in January.
Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong told Classic Rock that after two doing concept albums in a row, Green Day wanted to do something just as big but also different. He explained, "I think there's a big statement in putting out three albums, because right now people are so addicted to just singles. Making an album is like a lost art form. And where we come from is making albums -- all our favorite bands make great albums."
- Armstrong added, "It was time for a change and a new era. You just start with one simple song at a time, where less is more, but we made three albums and it ended up becoming epic. We wanted to make something that rocked really hard, and partied really hard, with a lot of meaning behind it. And a lot of soul."
