VICTORIA, British Columbia -- A charge has been filed against a 25-year-old Victoria man after a YouTube video emerged of a motorcyclist barrelling down a Vancouver Island highway at speeds of up to 186 miles an hour.

Randy George Scott is accused of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle in the joy ride, in which the biker swerved in and out of traffic on the highway north of Victoria about three months ago.

Scott himself hasn't been arrested because he's disappeared and police have issued a warrant for him.

The Times Colonist reported that Scott's mother was identified as the registered owner of the motorcycle and was issued $1,449 in traffic tickets in connection with the incident.

Video of the April 6 ride has been viewed more than 760,000 times on YouTube.
